Sanji grew up in a household where chivalry was golden. To the cook, every woman was a princess and it was his duty as a man to play the role of a prince. In his eyes, the ultimate sin any man could commit was by mistreating a woman. If he would ever come across a fellow man bringing harm to a lady, he would teach the barbarian some manners through brute force. Chivalrous as he may be, Sanji tends to be extremely cheesy. He will frequently make declarations of true love to any woman he spots and give them heavily poetic confessions. This is also why Sanji has never had a steady relationship with any woman. Because of his extreme soft spot for the ladies, Sanji has been played by multiple women in the past. Somebody would always point that out to him, but he would continue to be a love struck fool. His amorous habits have given him nicknames such as “ladies’ man” and “Casanova”. His attitude towards men is a different story. He sees almost every man as competition in life, love, and success. Sanji has a hard time maintaining a relationship with his fellow man. It’s easier for him to start up a fight than a civilized conversation with another guy. Recently, he has been trying to improve on his social skills with other men, but he has yet to see real improvement. One of Sanji’s weak points is that he is straightforward. He does not like to sugarcoat anything. He will tell them what they need to hear no matter how destructive the words may be. His brute honesty has gained the cook many enemies during his lifetime, but he strongly believes that people cannot live in lies for their entire life. A life you waste dreaming away is not a life worth living. Sanji believes himself to be extremely handsome. This has never been denied by any woman, but due to his flirty nature he has never received a sincere compliment regarding his looks from any female. The only time he had ever received any recognition regarding his physical appearance was when the other cooks under Zeff would tease him by calling him “pretty boy”. Soon, Sanji began to wear suits and smoke cigarettes hoping to rid himself of the “pretty boy” image and be seen by the world as a man of class. Sanji’s cooking skills are considered to be second to none. Even though he has never set foot inside a culinary school, he learned from the best of the best. The dishes the man can whip out would make Emeril Lagasse hang up his apron for life. When he was under the guidance of Zeff, people use to fly in from different parts of the world just to experience Sanji’s gourmet masterpieces. After leaving Baratie, Sanji used his cooking talents when he was with the Mugiwara gang and they were more than thankful to have a man of great skill in their group. He has yet to receive any negative criticism regarding his cooking, but he is always up to the challenge of pleasing any doubtful food critic. |
